Associate Dean's Message
I am honored to share the 5 Year Review for the MD Program at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. This report explores the transformational growth and collective impact of our faculty, students, and staff in Undergraduate Medical Education (UME).
The past five years have been remarkable. Guided by the Medical Education Strategic Plan, we have boldly made key strides in transforming and innovating our curriculum to better serve our learners. Together, as a team of almost 1200 students, over 150 faculty, 80 staff members, and 50 hospital-based staff, we are collectively driven by a commitment to reaching excellence in undergraduate medical education (UME). By improving our approach to supporting our community and developing our program, together we are building the future of healthcare.
Five years ago, we found ourselves distanced, adapting to new ways of working in the face of immense challenges. Staying resilient, learning, and practicing as the campus grew quiet. Now, as we have come back together, the energy has returned; connections are strengthening, refortifying the fabric of our community across three campuses and five academies.
With more shared time on site, and a campus once again full of life, the possibility is limitless in what we can achieve together; preparing future physicians, improving health care, and our communities.
